New Low Power AM Radio Station Now Serving Downtown Washington, PA

Ron King, president of RKP International Corp., has announced that a new low- power radio station is now broadcasting in the downtown Washington, PA area.
Located on the dial at 1710 AM, King said that the new station will broadcast various types of gospel music plus air a lot of the activities that happen in downtown Washington.
Although the new low power part 15 FCC authorized station can be heard best in the downtown business area, the station can also be heard further away at higher elevations. Good reception in a modern car radio can be had in the Washington Hospital area, at Trinity High School and in the Crown Center Mall area. RKP Radio,1710 AM, can also be heard in Washington Park on the hill adjacent to the Stone Pavillion and also out on I 70 .

King mentioned that older home radios made more than 20 years ago may not be able to tune as high as 1710 AM and that people listening in their car radios will probably get a stronger signal than they will on their home radios. King says that he is interested in using the new low power station to let people know about the love of Jesus and to also let people know that downtown Washington is still alive and well.

King went on to say that RKP radio, 1710 AM is a Part 15 authorized station. The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) Part 15 Rules and Regulations allow for non-licensed, low-power radio transmissions on the AM band. These transmissions may not exceed 100 milliwatts power at any time in order to broadcast legally. RKP radio adheres to these guidelines and operates in full complience of all FCC Part 15 rules and regulations regarding unlicensed broadcasting on the AM band.
